Before founding JackRabbit Systems in 2003, Andrew Van Luchene was the 6th employee at Walker Digital, the parent company of Priceline.com.   During his eight years at Priceline, Andrew served as a manager and inventor in the new field of e-commerce, where Priceline devised ways of extracting hefty commission fees.   One such category was hotel reservations, where Priceline takes as much as 45% in commission fees.

After returning to his hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Andrew founded JackRabbit Systems as a new kind of hotel search engine.   One of the guiding principles of JackRabbit is to connect buyers and sellers without the layers of middlemen that are involved in a typical GDS reservation.   In so doing, JackRabbit empowers the hotels and keeps more revenue in the local community.

By adding JackRabbit Online Travel Widgets to Chambers of Commerce, CVBs, local portals and directories, cities achieve a more unified promotional approach, while helping merchants to acquire new customers at a lower cost than ever before.
